Degrees Celsius to Kelvin (°C to K)
A fast degrees Celsius-to-kelvin calculator – the result updates as you type.
1 °C = 274.15 K
0 °C = 273.15 K. Enter a value and get the result instantly. Below you will find the formula and a table of commonly used values.
Formula
K = °C + 273.15

| -10 °C | 263.15 K |
| 0 °C | 273.15 K |
| 10 °C | 283.15 K |
| 20 °C | 293.15 K |
| 30 °C | 303.15 K |
| 37 °C | 310.15 K |
| 100 °C | 373.15 K |
Where it is used
Kelvin is used in science and engineering: in physics problems, gas laws, the colour temperature of light sources (for example 2700-6500 K for bulbs) and cryogenics.
A quick mental shortcut
The formula is simple: K = C + 273.15. For everyday calculations adding 273 is enough.
Exact examples: 0 C = 273.15 K; 25 C = 298.15 K; 100 C = 373.15 K. The lowest possible temperature, -273.15 C, is 0 K.
Good to know
The kelvin has no degree sign: write 300 K, not 300 degrees K. Since 2019 the kelvin has been defined through the Boltzmann constant.
