How to use it

Enter the loan amount, the annual interest rate (in percent) and the term in months or years. Choose the repayment type and, if you want dates in the schedule, a start date: the first payment falls one month later. Results update instantly.

  • Annuity schedule: the same payment every month; the interest share shrinks while the principal share grows.
  • Linear schedule: an equal slice of principal is repaid each month, so the first payments are the largest and then decrease.
  • View the schedule in pages, or download a CSV file and open it in Excel or any spreadsheet.

Things to keep in mind

A linear schedule usually costs less interest in total, but the early payments are higher. An annuity is easier to budget for because the payment never changes.

The calculator uses a monthly rate equal to the annual rate divided by 12. This is the standard method, but real offers can differ because of fees, insurance, day-count conventions or a variable rate (such as EURIBOR). Treat the result as an estimate, not as a binding offer.
