How to trim an audio file
- Choose an audio file and play it in the player.
- Enter the start and end time as mm:ss.s, or press the marker button to take the current playback position.
- If you like, set a fade in at the start and a fade out at the end, in seconds.
- Pick the format (MP3, WAV, M4A or OGG) and quality, press Trim and download the result.
Tips
- The file is re-encoded, so the cut is exact instead of snapping to the nearest frame. MP3, M4A and OGG lose a little quality, while WAV stays lossless but produces a larger file.
- A ringtone usually needs only 20–30 seconds. A short fade in and out (0.5–2 s) removes clicks at the cut points.
- Long files take longer on a phone, and you can cancel processing at any time.
Privacy
The file is processed on your device with ffmpeg running in the browser, so it is never uploaded. The first time you use the tool, the processing engine needs a one-time load; after that, no requests containing your file are made.
